  • Michael Joseph Kent was born August 26, 1954, the oldest of four boys whose parents owned and operated a grocery store.Mike was saved at the age of 12 during vacation bible school. This was the beginning of his journey and relationship with Jesus Christ. He and his brother, John, were saved and baptized at the same time. It was not long this after Mike realized he was called to preach. In 2017, Pastor Mike celebrated 40 years of preaching and pastoring ministry.

    He graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, in 1977. He was ordained that same year.

    He met his wife, Aline Weaver and they were married in 1973. Aline is originally from Landover Hills, Maryland. She holds a Ph.D in Christian counseling, is a board certified pastoral counselor and college professor for Liberty University. The Kents have three married sons, three step-grandsons, two granddaughters, and one grandson.

    Rev. Kent has pastored in Virginia, Tennessee, West Virginia, and has been the senior pastor of Lively Stones since 1993. There has been tremendous blessings and growth during these years. He has led the church to begin a Hispanic church, open a daycare center, complete a family life center, complete an auditorium and renovation of classroom facilities, and in 2011, pre-school and after school programs were added.
